Amy TU
Flutist Amy (I-Yun) Tu enjoys an active schedule as a soloist, chamber musician, and clinician while on faculty at Mason Gross Extension Division at Rutgers University of New Jersey, USA. Ms. Tu is an award winner of the National Flute Association Masterclass Performers Competition, Baur Scholarship Competition, and Frank Bowen Young Artist Competition. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Ms. Tu received Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music and attended Rutgers University. She performed in the concert venues in the United States, Italy, Austria, Great Britain, Japan. and Taiwan. In recent years, Ms. Tu has collaborated with the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, World Civic Orchestra, Sinfonietta Nova, Eastern Wind Symphony, and NOVUS NY.
Ms. Amy Tu currently serves as a competition coordinator of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), directs the Bravura Youth Orchestra Flute Ensemble, and adjudicates for New York Flute Club, NFA Competitions, and the Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia. As a pedagogue, she maintains a studio mentoring many prize-winning talents. Students under Ms. Tu’s tutelage have successfully auditioned for major conservatories, regularly received top rankings in NJMEA Regional and All-State Honors Ensembles and were featured in the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, NFA High School Flute Choir Competition, and the FSGP Youth Artist Competition. Her teachers to whom she is eternally grateful include Dr. Bradley Garner, Bart Feller, and Lois Herbine.
