Sandrine Tilly and Anne le Bozec met in november 1993 and lost no time in forming a flute and piano duo, which was awarded a second prize in the International Sonata Competition in Vierzon a year later, a FNAPEC fellowship as well as the Special Prize for French Music in the Rouen International Forum. In 1996, they won the first prize for Chamber Music in David Walter's class at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. Then their paths diverged, one devoting herself to orchestral playing and the other studying in Germany, but meeting again in 2000, they pooled their experiences, and started giving many concerts. Their talent and complicity earned them a second prize in 2003 in the Graz international duo competition "Schubert und die Moderne".
Their repertoire stretches from baroque sonatas to modern pieces, including transcriptions or personal adaptations of orchestral pieces or Lieder. They often play with partners such as the cellists Emmanuelle Bertrand and Grigori Alumyan, or the baritone Christoph Sökler. They have already given concerts in France, Germany, Austria and Hungary, among which figure recitals in Toulouse, at the "Salon Rouge", in the Haut-Anjou and Villers-sur-Mer festivals; in Germany, at Stuttgart’s Hugo-Wolf-Akademie and at the Hohenheimer Schloßkonzerte. Many programmes have been put on in conjunction with the German radio station Südwestrundfunk Deutschland (SWR2). Ardent defenders of 20th Century French Music their interpretations have received unanimous praise.
During summer 2004, the duo is performing at the Jacobins in Toulouse during the "Musique d’Eté" festival, and in Montpellier during the Radio France festival. On this occasion their concert will be broadcast live on France Musiques. During Radio France’s 2004-5 Paris music season, they will be performing in one of the "Série Déclic" concerts. In 2005, to commemorate André Jolivet's centenary, they will be recording a solo and duo concert for the German radio station Südwestrundfunk Deutschland (SWR2) which will be broadcast as a special programme. They are also appearing in March 2005 on the day devoted by Stuttgart’s Hugo-Wolf-Akademie to music from the Mediterranean countries.
