Hailed by The New York Times as "stimulating...engaging, piquant...delightful", Pamela Sklar performs frequently on flute, alto flute, bass flute, piccolo, and collaborates frequently with ensembles and composers.
A performer in major venues, she played in orchestras for the Grammy Awards and can be heard with many well-known artists on recordings.
"Sklar, a master of control and dynamics, conjured up delicious imagery...rich, pure sound." (The Boston Globe), she performs annually with Dave Brubeck and has toured internationally for many seasons as solo flutist with Claude Bolling, also appearing with jazz greats Hubert Laws, Jack Wilkins & Larry Coryell. Pamela performs in regional orchestras, played in Broadway shows as a guest, and has been seen on National TV repeatedly as flutist with tenor Andrea Bocelli.
A composer of classical and jazz chamber music, Pamela Sklar is currently performing and premiering her new works. Her recent compositions include 'A Tune For America'; a jazz-Native American piece for flute/bass fl/picc, upright bass and drums;
'Wood' for flute, violin and cello; and 'Conical Forest' for alto fl/picc, bass flute & english horn. Soon to be published, her music is currently being recorded.
