| Born in Italy, Amenduni started his flute studies at “Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari. Following that he perfected his flute training with international players like Peter Lukas Graf, Maxence Larrieu and Aurele’ Nicolet who said of him “…he has shown excellent musical qualities. A fine sound, exceptional technical ability, personality and talent to artistically elaborate the musical form.”
At a very young age he competed in national and international competitions like “Nino Rota” in Bari, “Franscesco Cilea” in Palmi, “Pergolesi” in Naples, “Citta’ di Caltanisetta” and “Cita’ di Trapani”. In 1985 he was the winner of a study bursary instituted by the CEE for the formation of the European Community Youth Orchestra.
In 1986 he played as principal flute in the orchestra “Teatro dell’Opera” in Rome and thereafter in 1994 was finalist for a position in Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. At the moment he is collaborating with the orchestra “Teatro dell’Opera in Rome as well as Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala Theatre in Milan, often playing under conductors like Zubin Metha, Mitoslav Rostropovic, Pierre Dervaux and Valery Gergiev. As soloist he plays with Symphony orchestras in Bari, Lecce, Taranto, I Solisti Aquilani, Orchestra dell’Opera in Rome, Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra, Kiev National Symphony Orchestra, Lvov Orchestra, Brest Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Siglo XXI (Spain), Collegium Musicum, London Primavera Orchestra as well as in chamber music groups, playing in concerts in the most important Italian cities and abroad in prestigious as United Nations and Carnegie Hall in New York.
He has participated in International festivals like Berlin Festwochen, Dresden Musilfestspiele, Toulouse Festival, Perugia Classico, Columbus Festival New York, Brest Classical Music Festival, Madrid Festival, New York University.
He has been invited to flute conventions in Rome, Milan, Sydney and Kansas City. He regularly collaborates with musicians like Konstantin Bogino, Patrick Gallois and Fabrice Pierre. His performances have been transmitted by RAI-Radiotre and he has recorded for Decca, Sony, Valdom, Rugginenti, Millenium Project, Falaut, Sirynx and Radio Slovenia (producing several music CDs). He lectures in flute at Music Conservatory “U.Giordano” in Foggia and, in the same conservatory, teaches the Specialised Biennio in Music II level, as well as being employed at the Italian Flute Academy in Rome. He is regularly invited to hold Master Classes at associations and Italian and foreign music academies and is often guest as member of the commission for national and international competitions. In 2005 he was given prestigious recognition in that he was cited in the DEUMM of the encyclopedia UTET with his biography and is considered very important for his profuse work in Italian musical environments.
